Wednesday was the Web Weavers Workshop with Lorelle VanFossen, part of Hawaii’s Geek Week. About 40 students had a great chance to learn the tricks and tips of successful blogging from Lorelle along with the hands-on steps of setting up a free WordPress blog site. All of the students received a copy of Lorelle’s book, Blogging Tips, What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging.
A large part of the class was designed to help each student come up with understanding what the purpose of their blog really is, the categories/topics of their sites, and even working on some sample posts. Along with this was Lorelle’s great tips as a power-blogger, including Firefox add-ons like GreaseMonkey to help speed up blog posting.
If you missed this special Web Weavers Workshop, be sure to subscribe to Lorelle’s web site feeds for lots more great information! Thanks to HMAUS (Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society) for putting this event together!

Oh, thanks so much. We had a great time and thank you so much for helping out. I know it was a little above you, hee hee, but I hope you learned a little something.
You were great at helping everyone. It was amazing to see the excitement about blogging and social media. This weekend’s PodCamp Hawaii is seriously going to rock. The registration is over 500! Incredible!
See you there!
