Geek Day and HMAUS Mactoberfest at Leeward Community College

October 24, 2009  9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This year the annual HMAUS Mactoberfest is a joint venture with Geek Day at Leeward Community  College. There will be hands-on workshops in LCC’s Digital Media Program computer labs on iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, Mac 101 for new Mac owners, Adobe Flash, Illustrator, Wireless Home Security, Photo Editing with Picnik and more.

In a special lunch hour presentation famed body-border/filmmaker Tom Boyle,will talk about  artistic expression,filmmaking and technology.  All workshops are free.  Click here to visit LCC’s Geek Day site for session details.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for registration, coffee and the PPH flea market. Workshops begin at 10 a.m.. There will also be on-going demonstrations of Voice Thread, Anime and Making Tattoos with Photoshop and Illustrator presented by LCC’s staff and Digital Media students in the Student Lounge.  And stick around —  there will be lucky number drawings  sponsored by HMAUS during the day.   The big prize is the newest 8 GB Nano with video!
