Well, we just had another wonderful and successful Hawaii Geek Week, that culminated with LCC and HMAUS’ big show yesterday; Geek Day and Mactoberfest. Lots of people attended all the events. Lots of learning, sharing, and discussions on a wide variety of great topics.
And, of course a HUGE thanks to all those people who put this together — extra special thanks to Joan Matsukawa (HMAUS) and Christian Ganne (LCC)!

We’re starting to work on our Hawaii Geek Week 2009 schedule; probably around the week of October 19th. We’re looking for good educational, social-media-aware conferences or events that might be happening then to tie in with the 30th Anniversary of HMAUS.org at Mactoberfest. Let us know if you have some suggestions either in the comments below or contact us directly! Thanks!
A large part of the class was designed to help each student come up with understanding what the purpose of their blog really is, the categories/topics of their sites, and even working on some sample posts. Along with this was Lorelle’s great tips as a power-blogger, including Firefox add-ons like GreaseMonkey to help speed up blog posting.
If you missed this special Web Weavers Workshop, be sure to subscribe to Lorelle’s web site feeds for lots more great information! Thanks to HMAUS (Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society) for putting this event together!
